“14-02 & Heart Break” - Breaking The Habit.

At this point it’s hard to avoid or ignore the Valentine day madness. It’s so crazy that I believe in the near future February 14th will be made an actual holiday. What’s even crazier is that this year it falls on a Saturday- Soooo many guys are in trouble. How will they divide their “quality time”- wake up and spend all day with wifey 1- run out and spend all evening and night with wifey 2, and fight with concubine OR fight with wifey2 and spend the whole day with 1 OOOR….disappear all together…Hmmmm I wonder what the BIG excuse would be- I digress.

I and cupid used to be best of friends, but after all the years of living in the real world as opposed to fairytale world, it’s hard to remain friends. I have scars that remind me why this day is over rated. First of all, I attended an all girls boarding school- so scratch valentine out of my secondary school days. After secondary school, My puppy love – realized the day existed when I had literally walked out of the relationship (like Temite- break up without telling him), he sat at home all day waiting for his little pixie to show up, meanwhile little Miss me had a rude awakening that day when my new love was torn between Me and his ex- So he Val-ed his ex in front of the whole school! and I ran back to my roots, met my poor puppy love sitting outside waiting for me…….(I still remained broken up after that oh!) LOL!........And you would think one bad experience is good enough to last you your life time, HA! Well, we all know that there’s always an appetizer before the main course. Now the main course totally Kills Cupid for me- On a faithful Valentine's day, while my mates were out exchanging presents and kisses, I get scarred. Now somebody tell me why my memories of Valentine’s day should be full of Love!

I know most of us have been scorched, burned, hurt or whatever, but I’m breaking my habit this year. After all, this is the year of change init? All those in favour of Obama and Change shout YES! And besides ain’t nothing I do can about the past, but I will not let it affect my future.……..Hey, don’t get me wrong, I’m not saying I’m going all out into the madness, NO! All I’m saying is I will try and change my attitude towards the occasion, and instead of dwelling on the nasty memories, I’ll do otherwise......And Besides the Mister is quite a *Dime Piece.

Speaking of which I have NO idea how these things are done or what to do…………….Any ideas People?

Please note: I am NOT the Mushy type so all mushy Ideas out the window! Thank you.

On second thoughts.......I think I'll use this year to make up with cupid...........:-)

"14-02 & Heart Break"

Looking for a photo to put up on my Valentine day post I stumbled across some quotes about love and heartbreak.  A few of them hit home, so I went scouting for some more and this is what I found.....

It takes a minute to like someone, and hour to love someone, but to forget someone takes a life time.

“Love is just the slowest form of suicide. it numbs you inside and all you have to do is pull the trigger.” (O-Y-O, On Your Own!)

Love And Get Hurt, Get Hurt And Learn, Learn And Love Again.

Love is hard to get,
but harder to let go

If you never get your heart broken,
you'll never learn to love

Once upon a time I was falling in love,
but now I’m falling apart.

If you have it [love], you don't need to have anything else, and if you don't have it, it doesn't matter much what else you have.

Relationships are like glass. Sometimes it's better to leave them broken than try to hurt yourself putting it back together

You love to hate the one who loves the one you hate to love.

The heart was made to be broken.

When the heart grieves over what is has lost, the spirit rejoices over what it has left.

The saddest thing in the world, is loving someone who used to love you.

Ever has it been said that love knows not its own depth until the hour of separation.

Some of us think holding on makes us strong; but sometimes it is letting go.

The way to love anything is to realize that it might be lost.

Love: The irresistable desire to be irresistibly desired.

I know we can all relate to some of these quotes. The one quote that killed it for me is this:

The hardest thing to do is watch someone
you love, love someone else
.

Wow!

Quick Question(s)?

1. Is a Human being actually flicking some switch in a Power station at such Ungodly hours when the movie has just gotten to it's climax or at the point when your body has just adjusted to the A/c and the sleep is just getting all soooo sweet , the lights go out- NEPA/PHCN?

2. Why is it we can feel so much love and hate towards one person?

3. Why in God's name do people cross the road and STOP halfway, bang! in front of your car when you draw up real close, only for them to run back to where they came from instead of them to  continue across after you step on your breaks! I CAN'T stand this!

4. Do you still go on with your wedding if you found out your fiance slept with his Ex somewhere along the line, when you two where together?

5. Why do we tend to remember people by the bad THING they did to us rather than all the good thing(S) they've done for us?

6. Would you tell your sister/cousin/friend that her boyfriend/fiance/husband's cheating (Knowing she's the very emotional type)?
Likewise, would you tell your brother/cousin/friend his girlfriend/fiancee/wife's cheating?

7. Why is it difficult to express how we feel to certain people?

And, why am I craving Vegetables?

What Do You Want?

Lazy Sunday afternoon trying to rest, my mind begins to wander- I began to reconcile my life then and my life now, the things that had happened to me over the last couple of years, the Places I had found myself in, the things I had to go through in the past and the things I was going through now, and as the incidents kept playing in my head I remembered the things I had loooonged & yearned for back then and the things I was longing for right now and then - IT CLICKED!

Everything I had ever desired or wanted and had made a detailed mental /physical note on, I eventually got matching my list tooth and nail!

And what fascinated me the most was the fact that I probably forgot about the “list” or “specification” of the desire/want at the time I got it.

It’s pretty amazing the things we can control with our thoughts.

I guess that's why it’s always good to know what exactly you want, so you don’t end up settling for less.

PS: I once read about a woman, who after  12years of marriage found a book, and inside it was a list, she read the list and began weeping- It was a detailed list of what she wanted in a husband if she eventually got married and her detailed list  described her husband of 12 years down to his height and colour of eyes, a list she had written when she was single.

Have a nice week......and I'm still up for adoption!

PeeK - a - BoO......

*Warning: Not much of a post, still trying to adjust to real time.

....And so the holiday madness ends and Lagos madness begins in full swing tomorrow, You would think one should be use to this by now, but I tell you just the thought of families with their 5 cars on the road tomorrow morning kills me- one for the father, one for the mother and 3 for their 3 kids in 3 different schools! (Now, can I throw in a suggestion to people like that? Please don't fail to get one for the dogs and another for the cats- I mean how much worse can it get), as if that's not bad enough, NEPA abi PHCN tricked us into getting comfortable a couple of months back with their 12 hour daily shifts, now we're lucky to get 12 hours a week- tired of all the generator noise- In fact, I think I need to relocate- People, any takers? I'm up for adoption!  Blogsville hear it now, it's a once in a life time opportunity, ~Sirius~ up for adoption, going once, going twice, going....(PS: not ready to freeze my butt off though- so Canadians take note)...OR I can aim for a fatter paying job that can afford an apartment in one of those sexy estates- but hey, that won't take the traffic away either, Mchewww!

2009 looks like its about to step into it's J's and sprint to December, so I'm putting mine on first and giving it a head start. Next week Tuesday marks a day in history for the entire world- Obamachukwu in the house. Woo Hoo!!! Jack Bauer and his crew had better be there oh!

Life is looking good amidst all the madness, and I'm happy right now......I think I'll have an achievement award for myself every month, and so for the month of January (even though it's not over yet) I can proudly say that for the first time in my life I have finally learnt how to let things go- by this I mean, I no longer dwell on the "why" questions , ladies you know how hard that is- why did he do this when we were*complete the sentence as the spirit leads you (LoL) and it's amazing how at peace you feel when you accept the fact that you can't change what has already happened,  but you have the power to affect what is yet to happen.......

Be advised :

"Your past is governed by your Memories"

" Your present is governed by your Thoughts"

"Your future is governed by your Imagination"

So do good to your future ........

PS: This "HELMET" (hair-melt) issue (A radio personality actually pronounced it that way several times over with all seriousness).......has me cracking up in traffic.  The guy with the paint bucket as his helmet wins my award.....and what's up with the construction workers hat?

Off to do my blog rounds.....I'm happy to see that nobody left, apart from ShaCrown who came running back. LoL (How dare she think she can up and leave).......adios amigos and have a fantastic week!

LONG HAUL FLIGHT..........

Ladies and Gentlemen this is your Captain Speaking, On behalf of me and the entire crew I would like to  welcome  you  aboard flight YR 2008, a non-stop  service From LOS Y2-8K  to LOS Y2-9K. Take off time is 00:00hrs 31st December ETA 00:00hrs 1st January, we will be flying at an altitude of the highs and lows of my life. At this time make sure your seat belt is correctly fastened, Also we advise you that as of this moment coming to terms with your present situation is a crucial key to redefining your future. If you have any questions about our flight today, please don't hesitate to leave a flash of light. Please Note: NO excess baggage Allowed; Pain, Hurt, Anger, Grudge, Unforgiveness, Confusion.

LIFE: I never imagined I would grow so much in just one year, I never imagined that I would find myself in more than half of the situations I found myself in. Overall it’s been a very successful year, I might not have bagged all I thought I would, but I can pat myself on my back and say I’m proud of myself.  So I’m older and wiser-Thank you God, I’ve decided to simplify Thank you- (you know yourself :-)) and live life.

I live on certain principles. In every situation I faced this year, I was rescued by either one or more of them, so I choose to share my very simple but powerful words with you, so as you move into the New Year and face new things these words are with you.

·     Life is about choices: Make the RIGHT CHOICE today.

·    The Will of God cannot place you where the Grace of God cannot keep you.

·    God CANNOT give you more than you can bear (you are created to survive any battle you find yourself in)- aaah My favorite, danm any circumstance!

·    The Lord will provide ALL my needs- so no need to worry even though the bank account maybe half / totally empty, help is on the way.

·    Do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself (I must say this one is hard- sometimes I just can’t help but worry)

·    I was NOT born to suffer (if it's not worth it, then don't do it)

·    Comfort is the name of my game. (it's not about being spoilt, it's about loving myself)

·    We only live once (take the risk, you never know)

·    Everything happens for a reason; hence all things work together for good- even if the outcome isn’t want you want- I Live by this

FAMILY: Does anyone come from a normal one? I doubt that- we are all crazy and we love each other and that’s all that matters- my parents have been together for nearly 30 freaking years! And my dad still cooks for her- Jeeze! They annoy me to my bone marrow!

WORK: So I served this year, 1 more month to go, the only corper retained effective Jan 1- even though my service year isn’t over, with a proposed fat ass pay cheque (Woo Hoo! Where my Christian Louboutin and jimmy Choo’s @ LOL!)- that’s my Light shinning,  contrary to what people may think, if you are light you will always shine even if you don’t mean to.

RELATIONSHIP/FRIENDSHIP/LOVE: * Exhaling. My year old relationship has taught me more than I could have ever learnt in 6 ½ years. Yes I faced the biggest demons ever, demons that I didn’t know existed, demons that break you down and you ask yourself, what the hell am I doing here? After all I was better off all by myself before he came along. I thought I had seen it all until  I had to learn the  greatest lesson of love and true friendship, I was amazed to say the least, amazed at the strength I found in myself  for my friend even though the situation crucially affected my own heart. And I’m glad I could be there for him.  I guess now I can understand a little how God must feel- Being there for us even though our current state is hurting him.

Well it’s a new year, Renewal of my Love for God, a renewal of love and friendship, new pay cheque (Woo Hoo!), So my good people dust of your shoulder and have a F-A-B-U-L-O-U-S 2009!

On behalf of  My Life Airlines and the entire crew, I'd like to thank you for flying with us on this trip and we are looking forward to seeing you on board again in the near future. Have a nice year!

They say:

“Destiny is not a matter of chance

It is a matter of CHOICE;

It is nothing to be waited for,

It is a thing to be ACHIEVED”

This is your Captain ~Sirius~ Signing out...…..Love you all Mwuah!

(S@*T all did I just go mushy, ewww!)
